I’m a storytelling travel journalist and author focused on nature, sustainability, luxury hospitality, design, wellbeing and family adventures. My deeply engrained curiosity and love of discovery have taken me to some 65 countries on six continents to seek out the what, why and how of extraordinary places both familiar and foreign, as well as report on compelling new hotel openings, little-known destinations, responsible operators and idiosyncratic cultures—much of the time with at least one of my two young daughters in tow.  

In the course of my 19-year career as a magazine journalist and editor I’ve co-hosted and produced a podcast called Conscious Traveler as well as one for Banyan Tree, written copy for world-class hotels and resorts, consulted on new hospitality projects and, as of early 2026, will become an author with the publication of The Bucket List Romantic Escapes by Rizzoli and The Bright Press. 

My far-flung exploits have taken me to Uganda for a shockingly up-close-and-personal encounter with a grumpy mountain gorilla—and deep conversations with an inspiring group of entrepreneurial women. To Myanmar, where I hopped in a hot air balloon at sunrise to photograph the pagodas of Bagan drenched in fuzzy golden morning light. To Hawaii for intense hula immersion and free-diving lessons, and to the Galapagos, where I frolicked with seals on brick-red beaches. Surfing in Morocco, bobbing around with penguins in South Africa, truffle hunting in Western Australia, road tripping solo through Portugal, swimming with whale sharks in Indonesia, being scrubbed within an inch of my life at half a dozen hammams in Istanbul, walking beside elephants in Rwanda, riding a water buffalo in Vietnam. From Madagascar, where I learned of death rituals and locked eyes with crowned lemurs, to Japan for lessons in pottery and the ceremony of incense. 

There’s not much I won’t try in the name of a good story. That includes building a home in Bali, Indonesia, as a single 35 year old and later moving into it full time with my husband and daughter. In 2023, we painstakingly designed and built another house there, together, with our second little one arriving just before it was completed. 

I studied magazine journalism at Northeastern University, earning my B.A. and graduating magna cum laude. I worked my way up at Modern Luxury’s Orange County magazine, Riviera, from assistant editor to senior editor before stepping into the role of deputy editor at L.A. Confidential Magazine. Later I became executive editor of FOAM Magazine. The print and digital publications to which I’ve contributed since I began freelancing in 2014 include Conde Nast Traveler, Architectural Digest, Travel + Leisure, AFAR, OLTRE, Los Angeles Times, Four Seasons Magazine, Vogue.com, The Hollywood Reporter, Robb Report, C Magazine, Brides, and Departures. Copywriting clients have included Bvlgari Resort Bali, Jenni Kayne, InterContinental French Polynesia, Uluwatu Surf Villas, Knight Co., and Hotel Insider.

Whatever the assignment, destination or project, my goal is to positively influence, excite and captivate readers and potential travelers. To motivate them to embark on their own journeys, transformational, idyllic or both. And to help them—and their families and friends—feel at home in the world.
